After 25 years in the health care industry, Julie turned to yoga as an opportunity to unwind, both literally and figuratively, from the stresses of a career in corporate America. She is a 2010 graduate of Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training, which gave her the opportunity to focus on developing a strong physical and emotional practice using breath to connect to feeling within the body. In Julie’s classes, pose progressions are provided to address the various physical needs and skill levels of all students. She teaches with humor and compassion, making yoga accessible to everyone, including those who have not been involved in conventional exercise. Hands on adjustments and pose modifications are an integral part of her teaching, aimed at assisting students to challenge themselves to work at their edge. After years of saying “I’m not flexible enough for yoga, I’m a breadstick, not a pretzel!” Julie has embraced yoga and turned it into a lifestyle.
